Cashmere Care

GALET Cashmere Care Guide

Directly from the herdsmen of Mongolia to your wardrobe, We assure you of the exceptional quality of our cashmere. In line with our dedication to sustainable and long-lasting fash- ion, we aim for your GALET pieces to become and hairloom.

Our cashmere's supreme softness makes it a delight to wear, and with the right care, you can keep it looking and feeling as fresh as the day you first wore it. Always follow the specific care label instructions on your garment.

Refreshing Your Cashmere

Regular Care: It’s not necessary to wash your GALET cashmere after every wear. Often, a light steaming with a hand-held garment steamer or simply airing it out near an open window is sufficient for a quick refresh.
Hand Washing

Method: Most GALET cashmere can be safely hand washed. Use a non-biological detergent in a bowl of cold water, letting your garment soak for about five minutes. Rinse it in cold water and lay it flat to dry.
Machine Washing

Guidelines for Machine Wash: GALET cashmere is crafted from long-stable fibers, making many items suitable for gentle machine washing.
Temperature: Ensure the wash setting is no warmer than 30 degrees Celsius.
Cycle: Use a delicate or wool cycle with a spin speed not exceeding 600RPM. Detergent: Opt for a non-biological or specialist cashmere detergent. Our favourite is the Cashmere & Wool Laundry Detergent by The Lab Co., featuring all-natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals.
Loading: Wash your GALET items individually or with a maximum of one other simi- lar-coloured item to avoid colour bleeding.

Method: After washing, lay your GALET cashmere flat on a clean towel, roll the towel and garment together gently to press out excess water. Unroll, then lay flat to air-dry, carefully easing out any wrinkles. Avoid hanging your cashmere to prevent stretching. Dealing with Pilling

Maintenance: Pilling occurs when small balls of fibre form on the surface of cashmere. Longer fibers like those used in GALET cashmere are less prone to pilling. To maintain the pristine condition of your garment, we recommend using a cashmere comb to gently remove any pilling that does occur.
